In a few years, once they're in Beta state, they can release that separately so you can still play the original normally (especially for TruckersMP and Mods) and the beta to test it out and check for bugs (and then fangirl about it).

Then they would start making the game on a new engine, either Unity, Unreal Engine or something else. They release the last update for 1.38 (or later) and keep it available for everyone. The way I see it, they should plan out how they do the move. And there could also be proper VR support.Īs I said, I'm 100% aware that if ever SCS plans to move to a new engine, it would take a lot of time. And if coded right, the controller support and wheel support will be a lot better than the old engine. Who doesn't want to see their chrome trucks all shiny and reflective?Īnother thing is, both Unity and Unreal Engine can be very well optimized in terms of performance. Both Unity and Unreal Engine support Ray-tracing and that can be great for those who owns an RTX. I also just did some research and they could use this to their advantage - Ray-tracing. Meaning that they could make the map bigger, the graphics stunning, the sounds uncompressed and more. The good thing is, they both offer something in common. Something like Unity or Unreal Engine 4/5. For the game to work much better, it needs a new, advanced engine. I'll keep it short, the engine is basically too old to add new, advanced stuff. SSAO is slightly glitchy to me and ruins immersion. With the new addition to SSAO, the engine seems to be getting to it's limit. The engine that's currently being used, is old. I'm fully aware that what I'm saying, it will take a lot of time. I ain't gonna be like "Should have a new engine now, this engine sucks!". TL DR - SCS should just use a new engine like Unity or Unreal Engine.
